Choco Chip Cookie

Who doesn’t love finding the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe? Cookies are one of my favourite treats especially the homemade chocolate chip kind and this easy chocolate chip cookie recipe produces the perfect cookie every time! This is one of our family favourites and the treat that I grew up with. My mom would regularly make a big batch of cookies to have on hand and freeze them, so we always had a homemade treat for our lunches.

Want to impress your friends and have them begging you to bring cookies to every event? Ok good, now let’s get started with a few easy to follow steps in order to make your very own soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients:

2¼ cup white flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter {melted}
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
walnuts or another nut of your choice {optional}

Instructions:

1.Preheat oven to 375°

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt together using a whisk and set aside.

3. In a seperate bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer set to medium speed. Mix in the vanilla and eggs until well blended.

4. Slowly add the dry ingredient to the wet as you continue to mix the dough.

5. After the dough is well blended, fold in your chocolate chips and mix well so the chocolate chips are spread out evenly through the dough. At this point you can add in any extras you would like, I like to add some chopped walnuts for extra flavor, but they are not necessary at all, the cookies will still be delicious if you leave them out.

6. Using a spoon, scoop a heaping spoonful of dough from the bowl and roll it in your hand to form a ball. Place the dough ball on an un-greased cookie sheet and continue to add the remaining dough, until your tray cookie sheet is full.

6. Bake for 9-11 minutes, until cookies are a light golden brown. Timing generally depends on your oven, so keep an eye on the first batch of cookies to decide on the perfect timing for your oven.

7. Let the cookies cool for about ten minutes and enjoy!
